"The only cure for grief is to grieve" -Earl Grollman
The above quote may seem obvious, but it is unbelievably difficult to do...
We move away from feelings that are painful
We feel stuck in our grief, stuck in the past
We find very quickly that others seem uncomfortable with our grief
Life has had the audacity to go on and expect that we will be able to do the same...
Grief and loss don't just apply to the death of a loved one. We go through a similar process when we lose anything important- a relationship, a job, a concept of ourselves.
You may be doing a great job working through your grief, or you may feel like you are totally stuck and unable to move forward. Either way, having a partner through the very lonely and isolating process of grieving can make all the difference.
