"I want to feel better" Is this the reason you are on this site? Or is it more about a problem that you can't seem to figure out a solution to on your own?
Therapy is different than talking to your friends because I provide an objective point of view, and stay focused on what you are here to work on. Our friends and family may listen, but because of the relationship, it will change the support they offer. Your relationship with me is only about helping you to make the change you desire- to feel better or to figure out a problem. This can feel strange at first, but it shortly begins to feel special and powerful. |
"I want to learn about myself"Most of us are going through our days on autopilot, our brain is running scripts to help us get through all that our life requires. But sometimes these scripts are unhealthy, or maybe just plain wrong! It is not uncommon that these scripts are uncovered in the therapy process, and it gives you the opportunity for insight and awareness. This emotional growth will increase your awareness into who you are and to the things that are contributing to your difficulty. This will allow you to begin making the needed changes, in a safe and supportive environment, with me there every step of the way.

"I want to be able to make a change"Throughout the relationship and process with me, you will begin to feel better. You will feel empowered to make changes within yourself, and maybe in your life.
You will leave the relationship with a positive experience, a set of tools, techniques, and understanding that will not only help you now, but will be available to you from that point forward.
